27 FEBRUARY 2013
Dear Friends,

WE are happy to announce that on the 14th February we received a very special St. Valentine’s gift. A 2.2kg, baby boy! He was rescued by the police and brought straight to us, only a few hours old. We have called him ‘Tino’, which is short for Valentino. He had a few hiccups to start with and had to be admitted to the hospital on his 3rd day, but after 5 days in the hospital, he was declared well and was discharged. Now we are back into the nighshifts and baby brigade,

once again. We are really excited about his arrival, as we see Tino as the start of huge things to come and he certainly is a milestone in our lives and our ministry.

SOCIAL Welfare have informed us that ABC Ministry is now officially open again and registered as a halfway house for abandoned babies. As soon as we can employ more staff, we will be given more babies.

ON the 4th February, Sam and Josh started at Joy Mission, Wesleyian Bible College. They have adjusted well to college life. Josh struggled at first with being away from home but they have both settled in well and are now enjoying their new lives as college students. They are acclimatising to the extreme heat of the Manzini area, the mosquitoes and the cockroaches. They have also experienced slaughtering, plucking and the cleaning of chickens, the Swazi way, which was a good experience for them.

KETURAH wanted to know: ‘why did Joy Mission take my brothers?’ as she really misses them a lot. She also told Robyn, after Talitha had left on the Sunday and the boys were taken to Joy Mission the following day: “don’t worry, mommy, if you are feeling sad, I will pray for you”. Who can be sad for long with the promise of that? She is getting used to having a new baby in the house and at first felt a bit left out. Robyn allows her to help her all the time and she has adjusted well to

her ‘new baby brother’.

TALITHA and the grandsons received their ancestral visa and will leave for the UK on the 2nd March. She is packed and ready to go and very excited about the new season and adventure that God is taking her and her young family into.

THE renovations are taking longer than expected, as our landlady fired the first

carpenters and had to employ new ones to start the job all over again. Our lounge furniture is still scattered around the house. Chaos reigns! Then to top it all, painters were brought in and also a guy to tile the kitchen scullery walls.

GERRY has hurt his knee after pushing our heavy Toyota Surf. The Surf is still out of action and up on blocks, as Gerry struggles to find the fault on it. His knee is an old injury which he sustained a few years back while chasing our horses in Bulembu. We tend to forget that we are not as young as we used to be and that age has a tendency to creep up on one, when we least expect it.

We appreciate all the prayers and support shown to Tino and us while he was in hospital. Please continue to pray for ABC Ministry. We are looking for more staff and need women who have hearts for Jesus and love for babies.

God bless you all
Gerry and Robyn

the 30 December. He has had a few jobs but has struggled to get a place to stay, as the prices for rent near London where he was, are really high. He has now moved to Ilfracombe, in Devon, and found that the rent is much cheaper there. It was lovely to have Talitha and the 2 grandsons all to ourselves for this time, as we know that once they fly out to the UK, it will be a long time before we see them again. Talitha is just waiting to get her visa and then it will be a matter of a few weeks before they leave.

THE girls, Lozi and Kitty, started back at school and are in Grade 7. They are doing really well and have made some nice friends at their school. They have both been chosen as prefects this year. Sam and Josh are looking forward to attending Joy Mission Wesleyian Bible College, just outside of Manzini, and their studies start

at the beginning of February. This is the first time in their lives that will be away from us for longer than a week at a time. Josh has mixed feelings about it but Sam is looking forward to it.

WE were promised a baby from welfare a month ago, and are still waiting for it to arrive. The room is ready and we are prepared to take in 2 babies to start with. Robyn met with the Baylor Clinic Social Workers and they are keen to continue working with ABC again. This waiting, as we re-establish our baby home, is really hard. God has promised us so much

but we have to be patient and wait on Him and allow Him to make it happen.

and out, renovating. Everything is a mess and there is dust everywhere. The lounge ceiling has to be renewed, so our lounge furniture is scattered around the house. Chaos reigns! We know that she wants to sell the house, so we guess that she is making it look good so as to put the price up. We suppose it will be worth it in the end.

ROBYN has started home-schooling Keturah again. Keturah is a keen scholar but too keen sometimes! She is growing taller and fast becoming a young lady. She asks lots of questions all the time and tells everyone that she is going to be a doctor when she grows up.

WE continue to trust God for great things in this ministry and, as frustrated as we feel right now, know that God’s plans will prevail for our lives.

Thank you to everyone for your love, support and prayers.
