A Special Visit from Longtime Friends
The 1st of this month, we saw a visit to us from our dear friend, Andy Sullivan. He and his late wife, Heather, were house parents to one of our toddler houses back in Bulembu. Robyn and Andy go way back, over 55 years, to a teenage friendship. It was great to have him visit us and for us to be able to sit and reminise over the ‘good ole days’! It was a huge encouragement to us to spend this time with him.
Welcoming Baby Jake and Generous Donations
On the 10th, we welcomed little Jake into our ABC family. He was just 10 days old and in desperate need of placement and care, so once again, Robyn said a heartfelt “YES.” We are so grateful to our wonderful aunties who continue to love and care for these little ones so deeply in need of nurturing.
On the 15th, we were blessed with a visit from the Sword and Spirit Word Church. They arrived with incredible donations for the baby home, including milk formula, lots of toys, and baby clothes. What a blessing! Thank you so much to the pastors and members of this church for reaching out to support our home.
Welcoming Lily Back Home
One of our previous children, Lily, who is now a young lady of 21, arrived home to share that she could no longer remain in Bulembu, where she had been living since we left the village in 2012. She had been working as a Grade 3 teacher’s assistant at Bulembu Christian Academy while studying online, but her contract was not renewed, and she was required to leave. We have gladly welcomed her back home to live with us and are currently helping her look for further employment at a school nearby.
Land Update and Continuing Patience
Regarding our land situation, because our construction company (GMA) holds a legal lien against the individual claiming ownership of our land, we discovered that GMA is able to rent out the new ABC property against that lien. We are currently waiting for an official letter of confirmation from our lawyer concerning this arrangement. We are also still waiting for a new court date for our case. In the meantime, our new buildings stand unfinished, waiting for us to complete them.
