We are still evicted from our land and the new ABC buildings which has been very frustrating for us as we are unable to complete the buildings and move into the new facilities. Once again, this month, we have had to say ‘no’ to babies in need of placements because of a lack in our facilities and us running out of space. Our present rented house is deteriorating fast and the roof is leaking badly when it rains. The floor tiles in the passage way are lifting and the paint is peeling off the walls, all because of the rain and bad roof leaks. It is very difficult for us to look out of our windows, from this present house, and to see our new buildings standing empty, waiting for the go ahead to continue with the construction of it.

Lactogen Milk
The baby milk formulas we use

We had a shortage of funding this month and Robyn made an appeal for baby milk donations. We were amazed at the wonderful response we had from so many people. God bless all of you who contributed either with tins of milk or finances for us to go and buy the milk. Thank you to everyone for helping us to feed our babies with the necessary milk formulas to help them grow. For anyone who would like to continue supporting us and help us to feed our precious babies, we are still in need of the milk The baby milk formulas that we use formulas.

There were a few birthdays this month with Jacob celebrating his 2nd birthday on the 10th, Alisha her first on the 20th, and Destiny celebrated her 2nd on the 26th. With 15 babies and toddlers in the home we are now kept very busy all the time. Our babies are all growing and are all well. The twins, Timmy and Reese are crawling and standing up against the furniture and trying to walk. Their mother has been to visit them a few times this month, which has been really good for them. Little Peter is growing and developing nicely and only has to be on the oxygen at night while he sleeps.

We were extremely blessed when we were called to a meeting on our new land on the 15th with our acting chief, Princess Salaphi, the PS for the DPMO and members for the constituency for our area. Princess Salaphi immediately called everyone together in our new Staff House, for prayer. After a lengthy time of prayer and praise, she gave us Joshua 1: 5 – 8, as an encouragement to us. A meeting was then held discussing our land problem whereby we were informed that this lady, Bangwayini Shongwe, was stopping a total of 48 people in our area from building on their land and she was also exploiting them. After the meeting, they all got into their vehicles and proceeded on to King Mswati’s office to present the cases to him.

Aunty Tema started her annual leave on the 12th and Aunty Treasure returned to work on the 24th. Our new 3 aunties have been with us for a year now and are doing really well. As well as our 15 babies in the home, we also have 6 aunties living on our property together with their 11 children whom we help to support. We have 15 staff members and a total 29 children amongst them. ABC sponsors 5 of their teenagers in high school as well.

Then on Saturday the 25th, Robyn went to town with Lozi to draw the staff salary money and thinking that it would be safer hidden under the seat and locked in her car, she left it there to run a few errands. On returning home, she found the money gone but the bag still there on the floor in the back of the car. We were all shocked about what had happened and reported it straight away to the police. Our staff were very understanding and will have to wait until further donations come in, for us to be able to pay them. Robyn had already given them all a notice that this would be their last month to receive cash for their pay and that they all needed to get bank accounts otherwise they will not get their pay at the end of May. We have since heard that this has happened to a few other people recently.

Prayer Requests: Nothing changes without prayer!

  • Please continue to pray for enough funding for the daily running of the baby home and to complete the new buildings. With the increase in baby numbers and the constant increase in prices of everything, it is costing us a lot to run the home every month.
  • Please pray for our land court case, as we are still waiting for a court date, and we desperately need to finalise it and move into our new home.
  • Please continue to pray for good homes to be found for our babies who need to move from our home once they turn 2 years old. We have 4 older ones, over 2, that need to move to more permanent homes.
  • Please give thanks to the Lord for His continual provision for the baby home
  • Please give thanks to God for all that He is doing in ABC!

Our words cannot express our gratitude to everyone who supports us, who prays for us and encourages us to keep on going. We are extremely grateful to everyone and appreciate all that everyone does to assist us with the running of the ABC baby home. Without you, we cannot survive.

God Bless You

Robyn & Gerry
